MURAL TOUR PACKAGE

This weekend is designed to acquaint our guests with the exciting city of Colquitt, Georgia, home of the award winning, nationally acclaimed SWAMP GRAVY productions and the MILLENNIUM MURAL PROJECT, initially funded in part with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1999.  Today, this project has grown to include 12 murals and Colquitt was declared Georgia’s First Mural City by the Georgia legislature.  In 2006 in Edinburgh, Scotland, Colquitt won the bid to host the 2010 Global Mural, Arts and Cultural Tourism Association Conference.  Links: www.colquittmurals.com   www.swampgravy.com 

Your weekend begins with your arrival Friday evening.  After settling into your room, you will enjoy dinner in our dining room Friday evening. Saturday will be your big day to explore the city and take a guided tour of our Murals and Cotton Hall, home of Swamp Gravy.  After a lovely southern breakfast, your guide will take you on a walking tour of historic Colquitt, Georgia.  Lunch will be served at the Tarrer Inn, giving you the afternoon to just plain relax, or enjoy some shopping in Colquitt’s many fine shops.  Saturday evening you will enjoy a mouth-watering,  five course dinner in our candlelit dining room.  Sunday morning you enjoy a continental breakfast prior to checking out and returning to your home.

MURDER MYSTERY WEEKEND

Your invited to Colonel Worthmore’s last birthday party (although he doesn’t know that).  Discover clues, question witnesses, rub elbows with suspicious characters, and help solve the mystery as it unfolds before your very eyes.  You will meet characters like Chauncey Vengeance, once the Colonel’s business partner, Precious Swampbottom, the town’s golddigger, who has had more than one husband die mysteriously, and Diaper Freely, the wife of I. P. Freely, the Colonel’s doctor.  Meet these characters and more as you help unravel the mystery. 

Included in your weekend are Friday and Saturday dinners, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and a Saturday morning tour of the murals in Colquitt along with a visit to Cotton Hall where our famous Swamp Gravy productions are held.  We will use members of our swamp gravy productions for the six major actors/actresses needed for our mystery weekend, and fill minor roles with guests.  Links:

ELOPEMENT PACKAGE

With the cost of an average wedding sometimes exceeding $30,000  we have found may brides-to-be just do not want to start their married life in debt.  Elopement packages just don’t get any better than the Tarrer Inns.  We handle your hopes and dreams with tender loving care and you will find that our professional staff delivers those hopes and dreams with style.  Let our special wedding coordinator, Ms. Charlotte Boston, assist you with your ‘elopement’, from the moment you mail your invitations until you and your new husband say goodbye to friends and family and ride off to your new life together.

Included in the basic two day Tarrer Inn Elopement Package  are breakfasts for ten the two mornings of the event,  the bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, a local minister or justice of the peace to perform the ceremony, whether under our garden patio tent, or inside the Tarrer Inn, a photographer, wedding album, an unedited CD ROM of the event, wedding cake and groom’s cake, and non-alcoholic punch in our dining hall for a small reception of up to 50 guests following the wedding.  Also included are inclusive use of our historic Kimbrel-Bush House, just across the square from the Tarrer Inn for two nights. This turn of the century house is beautifully decorated by Maureen Cook, the noted designer of the Tarrer Inn interior.  The home has five bedrooms with private baths and our period sitting room affords your guests the opportunity to relax in a comfortable yet elegant traditional setting.  Of course, if you have any special requests, like additional rooms for invited guests, a rehearsal dinner, or a full reception, Ms. Boston will be able to help you with the planning of these additions and work with you on pricing.  Links:

GIRLFRIEND GETAWAY

Enjoy two comfortable nights at the Tarrer Inn, continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday morning along with a full five-course dinner evening of your arrival, and Saturday night. Enjoy free use of the Fitness Club during your visit to the Tarrer Inn. Saturday morning take a walking tour along the spectacular boardwalk at Spring Creek Park and visit the wonderful 14 murals surrounding downtown Colquitt and the Tarrer Inn. Enjoy the complimentary chilled bottle of wine along with the fruit and cheese tray left in your own private room Saturday afternoon when you return from exploring the extensive collection of shops in Colquitt. After your exciting day Saturday, relax with a glass of wine and a luxuriating , refreshing, complimentary body massage in your private room prior to joining the girls for a wonderful private dinner in our dining room.
